This training focuses on promoting safety and situational awareness for providers conducting home or community-based visits. Participants will learn how to assess potential risks, set clear boundaries, and develop proactive safety plans. The training includes tools for identifying red flags, assertive communication strategies, and guidance on exiting unsafe environments. Through discussion and role-play, attendees will strengthen their ability to navigate complex environments while maintaining professionalism and self-protection.

About the presenter
Dr. Marya Wright is a nationally distinguished Black social worker, consultant, educator, international trainer, and facilitator with experience in organizational leadership, child welfare services, productivity and curriculum development.
She is the President and CEO of Wright Community Services LLC, a company that strives to empower system-involved families through awareness, services, and educaton while alos providing consultation, training, and system specific facilitation to the agencies that services these communities.
Dr. Wright holds a Doctor of Social Work from the University of Southern California. She holds a Master's in Social Work from Cal State East Bay and a Bachelor's in Social Work from San Diego State University.
Dr. Wright is a qualified expert witness, published researcher, and professor. She is an elected Board of Director for the California Society of Clinical Social Work. Dr. Wright is also actively engaged in the National Association of Social Workers and the CA chapter as Assistant Director for Region-C.

This training is brought to you by First 5 Shasta whose aim is to provide the highest quality opportunities for young children, pregnant women and providers of service to children 0-5.
