Join BHC for our June Second Saturday Lecture, taking place on June 14th at 10 AM. Emeritus RACC Professor John Lawlor will explore photographs from the Reading Railroad's Locomotive Shop photo lab, showcasing rare steam engine glass and film negatives. Alongside these materials, he will share fascinating stories that go beyond the images themselves. Attendees will have the opportunity to see firsthand the meticulous craftsmanship and engineering marvels that powered the steam engines of the past. Through these rare photographs, Professor Lawlor will bring to life the stories of those who worked tirelessly to keep the wheels of industry turning, highlighting their contributions to the development of the region.

Light refreshments will be available starting at 9:30 AM, and the lecture will be held in the BHC Museum Auditorium. Tickets are $5 for BHC Members and $10 for Non-Members, which includes admission to the museum.

About the Speaker:
John Lawlor has a rich family history with the Reading Railroad (Conrail), as he, his father, both grandfathers, two great-grandfathers, and several uncles all worked there. In 2015, he retired from Reading Area Community College, where he served as an Emeritus professor after a 25-year teaching career. Additionally, he acted as a resource consultant for various summer institutes at the Library of Congress and continues to volunteer and consult for the Education Center at the National Archives in Washington.
