Ride for Lavar – Riding for Hope, Strength, and Love

Lavar is more than a friend, more than family – he’s a fighter, a father, and a pillar of support for everyone blessed to know him. Throughout his life, he has shown us what resilience, love, and community truly mean.

This ride is for him. Lavar is currently facing the toughest battle of his life: a fight against cancer. Through the 'Ride for Lavar' Bicycle Run, we aim to provide a powerful wave of support and solidarity, reminding him that he is cherished and never alone in this journey.

This is not just a bike ride – it’s a movement. We are coming together as a community to show Lavar that he does not fight alone. Every mile we ride is filled with hope, with prayers, and with the unshakable belief that love can conquer even the toughest battles.

We ride for hope that this ailment will quietly disappear.

We ride for the strength that Lavar has always embodied.

We ride because he has always been there for us — and now, we are here for him.

Join us on August 30th, 2025, as we pedal together. Let’s show Lavar — and the world — the power of a community united by love.

• Date: Saturday, August 30th, 2025
• Ride Route: We'll begin our ride at India Point Park in Providence, journeying along the scenic East Bay Bike Path to Colt State Park in Bristol, and then returning to India Point Park. This beautiful round trip is approximately 25 miles.
• Post-Ride Celebration: Join us for a celebratory BBQ at Colt State Park from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM!

Your Registration Includes:

• Entry to the 'Ride for Lavar' Bicycle Run
• A commemorative 'Ride for Lavar' T-Shirt
• Delicious BBQ lunch at Colt State Park

Important Information for Participants:

• T-Shirt Size: To ensure you receive the correct size, please provide your T-shirt size (e.g., S, M, L, XL) during registration.
• Bike Rental Needs: If you don't have a bicycle and require one for the ride, please indicate this during registration so we can explore assistance options.
• BBQ Food Donations: We're seeking generous contributions to our BBQ! If you are able to donate a food item (e.g., salads, desserts, side dishes), please contact aW5mbyB8IHZpc2lvbnN0YWZmaW5nICEgbmV0 to coordinate.
• Donations: For those who wish to contribute beyond registration, any donations will be gratefully accepted and will be donated to Colon Cancer research on behalf of Lavar and Family.
