With over three decades behind the decks and a lifelong love for the deep, soulful roots of dance music, Chris Hunter is a selector who plays from the heart.
Based in Preston with residencies back in the day at Feel @ UCLAN, Green, Cheeky Monkey, and more, Chris also has international dancefloor credentials having DJ'd and his music played around the globe. His crates get dug deep, he's a sharp ear, and a warm, welcoming presence. This is dance music with depth, curated with love, delivered with purpose.
From basement sessions to backroom residencies, to big rooms and sun-soaked festival stages, Chris has earned a reputation for crafting sets that blend house, disco, funk and edits into a seamless journey of groove and emotion, playing under various solo and duo monikers over the years (Chris Da Mentalist, Kenny Jaeger, Jaegerossa, Da Mentalistz etc)
Inspired by the legacy of Larry Levan and the transcendent spirit of the Paradise Garage, Chris brings both reverence and passion to every performance.
His upcoming event, Back to the Paradise Garage, is more than just a club night, it’s a love letter to the music that shaped generations.
Expect funk, gospel vocals, symphonic strings, brass stabs, syncopated basslines, four-to-the-floor and hands in the air house plus modern-day edits from the likes of Dave Lee, Dimitri from Paris, John Morales, LNTG and The Reflex.
