Ballroom Dance Social for the LGBTQ+ community. Folks with diverse identities, alternative lifestyles, and allies welcome as well.
It's Pride month, of course. In various times and places the number 13 has been a powerful number, particularly Friday the 13th. What are your favorite songs about pride and power, whether on an individual level or on a group level?
The included dance lesson is geared for beginners, and dancers of all levels are welcome. If you've always wanted to try waltz or cha cha or swing dance, this is your chance! Partners and friends are fun to bring along, but not required.
The space has a beautiful wooden dance floor, so please carry in the shoes you'll be dancing in to be sure they are clean and dry.
There will be some snack foods and non-alcoholic beverages available. Doors open at 7, beginner ballroom class covering the romantic Rumba and upbeat Cha Cha from 7:15 to 8:15, and open dancing from 8:15 to 10 PM. Pay as you can, $20 suggested for the night, cash preferred.
