The magic that is Amoeba Dance is back in Portland, Oregon!

The inquiry of Amoeba Dance is… “What happens when a community of affectionate beings drops into their soft animal bodies and dance together as one, to slow (downtempo and ambient) music?”
Amoeba Dance™ is a practice of group Contact Improvisation, exploring what it means to dance as one. The dance score is: slow, grounded, and all-connected. Imagine one big, slow, gentle, group contact dance. So unlike other conscious dance events, everybody will continually merge in and out of a main amoeba. There will be moments where parts of the amoeba may split off into solo dances, duets, or small groups—but everybody keeps returning to the amoeba throughout the evening.
We've held over two dozen Amoeba Dance events since 2018!
The music by DJ Bonbon Spirit is all ambient and downtempo--a mix of instrumental and vocal tracks. We start with an opening circle to establish an attuned and safer container, move into facilitation to get the contact improv flowing, and then luxuriate in the deep connection of the Amoeba. We integrate with a Symphonic Gong sound bath and closing circle at the end of the evening.
This is a publicly-advertised, privately-vetted event. Preregistration is required for everyone, by 6pm the day before (24 hours in advance).

COMMUNITY AGREEMENTS:
By registering for this event, I declare I will abide by the following community agreements:
1. Everyone is required to arrive in time for the opening circle at 7:30pm (Note: there will not be in-and-out access, for vaping or any other purpose).
2. While we share affectionate touch with others, Amoeba Dance is not appropriate for exploring any erotic or sexual energy. Everyone agrees to hold impeccable boundaries.
3. Everyone will dance with top and bottom covered at all times.
4. Amoeba Dance is 100% slow, gentle, and grounded.
5. Some of our community members are chemically and/or scent sensitive and we will all be in close contact. Everyone is expected to shower before attending, wear clean clothes, brush teeth, and refrain from the use of any scented products (including essential oils).
6. Everyone agrees to attend “clear-minded”, and refrain from the use of alcohol or other inebriating substances.
