Mock Legislative Session with the NAACP

Join the Arizona NAACP and Legislators across the aisle as we walk through the process of legislative session. Participants will get to be legislators for the day, creating bills, lobbying votes, testifying in committee and more!

9am - Capitol Tour
10am - How a Bill Becomes a Law - Workshop and activity (how bills are drafted, submitted, and debated). Guests draft and drop their own bills.
11am - Mock Committee Hearing - Committee members debate, amend, and vote on bills. Public testimony from visitor volunteers.
12pm - Lunch and Leadership Visit - AZ House Speaker or Legislative Leader for a Q & A on policy making and leadership.
1pm - Mock Floor Session - roles will be assigned (Speaker, Majority / Minority Leaders, Legislators)
3pm - Closing & group photo
