Nokuthula Ngwenyama, Alban Gerhardt, Olga Zado and Leonard Slatkin / Summer of Angels Concert #3

The New Hollywood String Quartet presents the SUMMER OF ANGELS Chamber Music Festival, July 10-13 at The Huntington's Rothenburg Hall. This year's festival honors the legacy of the Hollywood String Quartet, by performing works from their legendary Capitol Records discography. Internationally acclaimed conductor Leonard Slatkin will introduce and speak at each of these four concerts in a tribute to his parents Felix Slatkin and Eleanor Aller, the first violinist and cellist of that famed String Quartet.

On Saturday July 12 at 5:00 pm, renowned violist and composer Nokuthula Ngwenyama joins Alban Gerhardt and the quartet for third evening of the festival, in a performance of Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht. Then, pianist Olga Zado joins the quartet members to perform Schumann’s Piano Quintet in E-flat major.
