Get ready for a ground-breaking and action-packed evening at the People’s Summit 2025, on Tuesday, May 27th in Ottawa. This is more than just an event—it’s a call to action for anyone who wants to shape a more affordable, inclusive, and responsive city.
Whether you’re new to civic engagement or a seasoned community organizer, the Summit will connect you with the tools, knowledge, and networks you need to make real change happen. We’re building a space where residents, grassroots leaders, and organizations come together to unlock the power of people in Ottawa.

🔹 New On-Ramps to Engage in Improving Your City - learn of new efforts to build our people power to address local concerns
🔹 Local Action Teams – dive into hands-on strategy sessions on local issues our community members care about – Lansdowne, Tewin, public engagement, climate action, public washrooms and more.
🔹 Celebrate “Community Victories” – hear real stories of how community efforts have made a difference in our city and in our neighbourhoods.
🔹 Live taping of the Better Ottawa Municipal Panel – participate in an in-depth conversation with Joanne Chianello, Jon Willing and Neil Saravanamuttoo on current issues facing Ottawa City Hall.
🔹Best Socials In The City Contest Kick Off – Learn more about the contest kicking off this summer to help celebrate the best memes, reels, clips and other social media posts focused on Ottawa city issues, sponsored by CitySHAPES and Youth Action Now!
By the end of the event, you’ll walk away with new allies, concrete tools, and a renewed sense of hope. The People’s Summit is your opportunity to be part of something bigger—a movement to find and use our people power to build an Ottawa that works for all of us.
