The Proffits
“In an unmarked crypt, in a forgotten corner of an ancient cemetery, something stirs. The blazing sun has finally sank below the horizon, and the eyes of The Proffits flutter open. Bones creaking, they dust off their leather jackets, grab their gear and glide into an ill-lit shady music venue. The mood is as dark as the haunting melodies that emanate from the stage as The Proffits spread the gospel of the darker aspects of humanity and the universe. The crowd can't help but shake to the beat. They are possessed with an urge to move and sway. The surf-garage-punk tones grip their souls, and it feels....good. The Proffits also move and sway, as they are animated by the sound of their own music, and the connection between the performers and the observers is palpable. It is one big energetic charge, and it feels good. After the final notes of the very last song die out, The Proffits close their instrument cases, and exit through the back door, dragging their bodies back to that dark and foggy corner of the cemetery. They each enter their respective tombs, lower the lids, their eyes flutter closed, and sink into their eternal slumber, until the next gig...”.
Downsize
Downsize is a four-piece band from Shelton, WA blending soft grunge and shoegaze into a sound that hits both heavy and heartfelt. With melodic, emotionally raw vocals riding over noisy, atmospheric instrumentals, they channel the energy of bands like Momma, Fleshwater, Sunny Day Real Estate, and Smashing Pumpkins. Downsize made their live debut in June at McCoy’s Tavern, carving out their place in the PNW underground with a sound that’s equal parts haze and heartbreak.
