Pawpaw Planting Party

Community Tree Resources is inviting naturalists, land stewards, and native plant enthusiasts to join us for a weekend of hands-on restoration work to help reestablish pawpaws in and around Pittsburgh. This is part of a growing local initiative to bring these trees back to our region, and we’re looking for volunteers to help with the next step.

Over the course of two days, we’ll be cleaning and sanitizing pots, mixing potting media, and planting pawpaw seeds in containers. Whether you’re an experienced grower or just curious about native plants, your help will make a difference.

The event will take place just outside Moraine State Park, about an hour north of Pittsburgh. You’re welcome to join for one or both days. In addition to the planting work, there will be opportunities for hiking nearby and camping on site if you’d like to stay and connect more with the land and others involved.
