If your daughter is interested in playing for MYA's travel softball team, The Merrimack Magic, for the 12U age bracket, we are holding tryouts on 7/22 and 7/23 at 5:30pm at Reeds Ferry Field 2.
Merrimack Magic 12U is a C-Level Travel Softball program. Our team is expected to play in 8 tournaments next season in the NH, MA and RI areas. Our coaches try to find tournaments that fit our skill levels and place us in positions where we can play with evenly skilled teams. Some of these tournaments may require a hotel stay, however, we will try to keep these to a minimum.
It is the philosophy of the coaches that our number one expectation for their players is to push themselves to learn and love the game while committing to the highest standards of sportsmanship and teamwork.
Players on Magic are not expected to play on a rec team in this age bracket. If you choose to do so anyway, priority must be given to Magic for tournaments and practices.
It is also expected that the parents, fans, and family members of our players remember that their kids are exactly that, kids. We have a zero-tolerance policy for sideline antics that cause unneeded stress on our players. In other words, if parents get out of hand, players will be asked to leave the team without a refund.

2.TRYOUT ATTIRE:
Your daughters should wear softball pants, cleats, rips-its, and their gloves. It is expected that will be running and sliding.
3. PITCHERS AND CATCHERS:
If your daughter intends to try out as a pitcher or catcher, please expect to demonstrate their skills in that position. Players in these two positions will report to a specific coach after warming up. If you intend to pitch at this level of play, it is expected that your daughter receives regular lessons from a pitching coach throughout the season.
4. MAKING THE TEAM:
We expect more people to try out than we have space available on the team, so make sure your daughters know that they need to work hard.
5. Final roster decisions will be made by August 1st. If your daughter is selected to play on the team, we will need a non-refundable deposit of $250 before 8/14 to secure your spot.
