Event Information:Cultural Arts for Everyone (CAFE') Presents: An unforgettable afternoon with Misty Copeland, the first African American female Principal Dancer with the American Ballet Theatre. This special event will feature a moderated conversation with Misty. Plus, there will be a screening of her short film FLOWER, a ballet-on-film that tells the story of a family caregiver struggling with housing insecurity in Oakland, California. FLOWER premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2023 and was screened at major film festivals across the United States, as well as at the White House. It was nominated for an NAACP Image Award. Copeland will conclude the afternoon in intimate interview on how to explore how ballet can grow and evolve to meet this moment.
