Rodney Whitaker Ensemble

World renowned bassist Rodney Whitaker returns to start off our 23rd season of music with his ensemble of vocalist Rockelle Whitaker, saxophonist Alvin Paige, trumpeter Andrew Brown, pianist Brendon Davis, and drummer Joe Fielder.

The combo swings hard and soulfully with classic jazz favorites from the past and into fresh directions.

Rodney is a dedicated jazz educator who has presented master classes across the country as well as serving as a consultant for institutions such as Interlochen Center for the Arts and Julliard Institute of Jazz. He has played along with greats such Wynton Marsalis, Dianne Reeves, and Pat Metheny.

Our inclement weather site is the Orchard State Park Beach house at 2064 Lakeshore Drive, about a mile off of US-31.
