The Washington Post jo je označil za »žarečo«, s »prečiščenim tonom in neomajno intonacijo«.
Kot nekdanja študentka legendarnega violinista Ruggiera Riccija je leta 2012 debitirala s solističnim nastopom z Orkestrom Marijinega gledališča pod vodstvom Valerija Gergijeva. Julija 2024 je nastopila z Zubinom Mehto in Orkestrom Maggio Musicale Fiorentino na Festivalu Ljubljana; koncert je bil posnet in predvajan na Mezzo Live in Medici TV.
Nastopila je z Moskovskimi solisti in Jurijem Bašmetom, z Londonskim simfoničnim orkestrom (dir. Gianandrea Noseda), s Šanghajskim filharmoničnim orkestrom in skladateljem Tanom Dunom, ter z Kraljevim filharmoničnim orkestrom pod vodstvom Rafaela Payareja in Vasilija Petrenka. V ZDA in na Japonskem redno koncertira, leta 2020 je njen nastop s skladbo Deirdre Gribbin z Ulsterskim orkestrom predvajal BBC Radio 3.
Nastopila je v dvoranah, kot so Wigmore Hall, Dunajski Konzerthaus, Teatro la Fenice, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, ter na festivalih in v dvoranah po Aziji, Evropi, ZDA in Bližnjem vzhodu. Leta 2021 je prejela nagrado Prešernovega sklada. Poučuje na Trinity Laban Conservatoire v Londonu in redno vodi mojstrske tečaje po svetu. Igra na violino iz leta 1750, delo Pietra Antonia Dalla Coste.
🎸 Mak Grgić, trikratni Grammy nominiranec, ga je The New York Times označil za »izjemno nadarjenega kitarista«, The Washington Post pa za »umetnika, na katerega velja biti pozoren«. Njegov bogat in drzen repertoar obsega vse od balkanske etno glasbe do mikrotonalnih in avantgardnih del.
Letno izvede okoli 85 koncertov kot solist in komorni glasbenik. Je soustanovitelj dua Duo Deloro (flamenko) in FretX Duo (sodobna glasba). Sodeloval je z JACK Quartet, Assad Brothers, violinisti Augustinom Hadelichem, Curtisom Stewartom, Martinom Chalifourjem, ter violončelisti Jayem Campbellom, Joshua Romanom in Clivom Greensmithom.
Redno nastopa v Aziji, Evropi in ZDA. Igral je v Musikvereinu, Konzerthausu Dunaj, Konserthusetu Stockholm, Teatru Cervantes, Pariški Guitar Foundation, Tajpejski narodni gledališki dvorani, Šanghajskem velikem gledališču in na Hongkonškem kitarskem festivalu.
Njegov najnovejši album Entourer (nominiran za Grammy) v sodelovanju z Ensemble Dissonance raziskuje glasbo slovenskih skladateljev Leona Firšta in Nine Šenk. Drugi uspešni albumi vključujejo Mak|Bach, MAKrotonal, Balkanisms in A Night in Upper Town.
Kot pedagog in podjetnik je vodil platforme, kot so EuroStrings, Zagreb Guitar Festival, Connecticut Guitar Festival, ter ustanovil Notey's World in Virtual Guitar Orchestra, ki je združil tisoče kitaristov iz več kot 50 držav in bil pohvaljen celo s strani ameriške Kongresne knjižnice.

Violinist Lana Trotovšek has captivated audiences with her “true feel of live intuitive performance” (The Strad) and has been praised for bringing “freshness, depth and insight” to her interpretations. The Washington Post described her as “radiant,” noting her “clean, refined tone with a musical sense of phrasing and impeccable intonation.”
A former student of the legendary violinist Ruggiero Ricci, she made her solo debut with the Mariinsky Theatre Orchestra under Valery Gergiev in 2012. In July 2024, she performed Beethoven’s Violin Concerto with Zubin Mehta and the Orchestra of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino at the Ljubljana Festival. The concert was recorded by Panamax and broadcast on Mezzo Live and Medici TV.
She has performed with the Moscow Soloists and Yuri Bashmet, the London Symphony Orchestra under Gianandrea Noseda, the Shanghai Philharmonic with Tan Dun, and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra under Rafael Payare and Vasily Petrenko. Her appearances also include performances at the Shanghai Oriental Arts Center and the Shanghai International Spring Festival, as well as in Nanjing.
Trotovšek has toured extensively across the United States, earning praise from both the Washington Post and Philadelphia Inquirer, and has performed throughout Japan in cities including Tokyo, Kyoto, Nagoya, and Yokohama (Minato Mirai Hall). In 2020, her performance of a violin concerto by Deirdre Gribbin with the Ulster Orchestra was broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
She has appeared at many of the world’s most prestigious concert halls, including Wigmore Hall, the Konzerthaus Vienna, Teatro La Fenice in Venice, the Concertgebouw Amsterdam, and Muziekgebouw Eindhoven. Her international career spans Europe, Asia, the Middle East, North America, and Latin America. In 2021, she was awarded the Prešeren Fund Award, one of Slovenia’s highest cultural honors. Based in London, she is a violin professor at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. She performs on a 1750 violin by Pietro Antonio Dalla Costa.

Described by The New York Times as a “gifted young guitarist” and by The Washington Post as “a guitarist to keep an eye on,” Mak Grgić is a three-time Grammy-nominated artist acclaimed for his stylistic versatility and adventurous programming. His repertoire spans Balkan folk, microtonal, and avant-garde music, driven by boundless curiosity and musical imagination.
Performing around 85 concerts annually, he appears regularly as both soloist and chamber musician. He co-founded the flamenco-inspired Duo Deloro (with Adam del Monte) and the contemporary FretX Duo (with Daniel Lippel, of the International Contemporary Ensemble). As Young Artist in Residence with the Da Camera Society in Los Angeles, he founded the octet DC8, hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “an inspiring addition to the contemporary music landscape in LA.” He has collaborated with the JACK Quartet, The Assad Brothers, violinists Augustin Hadelich, Curtis Stewart, Martin Chalifour, Chee Yun, and cellists Jay Campbell, Joshua Roman, John Sant’Ambrogio, and Clive Greensmith (formerly of the Tokyo String Quartet).
Grgić tours Asia twice annually and performs across Europe every other month. Recent engagements include the Musikverein and Konzerthaus Vienna, Konserthuset Stockholm, multiple venues in Portugal, Teatro Cervantes de Béjar (Spain), Sarajevo Music Academy, the Paris Guitar Foundation, Zurich University of the Arts, Taipei National Theater, Shanghai Grand Theater, and the Hong Kong International Guitar Festival.
A prolific and inquisitive recording artist, Grgić explores the expressive potential of the guitar through a diverse discography. His latest album, Entourer—a Grammy-nominated collaboration with Ensemble Dissonance—features works by Slovenian composers Leon Firšt and Nina Šenk, blending classical, ethnic, and experimental idioms. His other acclaimed recordings include Mak|Bach (Grammy-nominated), MAKrotonal, Balkanisms (Naxos), La Buena Vida (with Adam del Monte), A Night in Upper Town (Grammy-nominated), and his debut as a composer on Peaceful Guitar.
As an educator and cultural entrepreneur, he has held leadership roles in EuroStrings, the Zagreb Guitar Festival, and the Connecticut Guitar Festival. He is the founder of Notey’s World, a music education platform for children, and the Virtual Guitar Orchestra—a globally recognized initiative uniting guitarists from over 50 countries, praised by the Library of Congress for its accessibility and innovation in music education.
