About the event

BOOK LAUNCH & BOOK TALK WITH KATHERINE REAY & STACY PETERSON
Wheatgrass Books is thrilled to welcome Katherine Reay to the bookstore to celebrate the release of her newest book The English Masterpiece on June 12th at 7pm!

This gripping historical fiction novel centers around a forged Picasso painting. Stacy Peterson, local author of The Lovely and Dangerous Launch of Lucy Cavanaugh will be joining Katherine for the book talk. The event is free to the public and a book signing, and reception will follow.

About Katherine Reay
Katherine Reay is a national bestselling and award-winning author of twelve novels and one nonfiction title. A Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Northwestern University, she also holds a master’s degree in marketing from Northwestern. Her writing has been featured in publications such as Redbook, USA TODAY, The Daily Beast, Criminal Element, and many others.

Reay is the co-founder and host of the What the Dickens Book Club on Facebook and The 10 Minute Book Talk on Instagram. She lives in Montana with her husband, their three children, and their dogs.

Her latest novel, The English Masterpiece, releases on June 10, 2025. It tells the story of a young woman framed for forging a Picasso discovered in London’s Tate Gallery in 1973.

Since her debut in 2013, Reay has released a book nearly every year—many with playful nods to classic literature. With titles like Dear Mr. Knightley, Lizzy & Jane, and The Austen Escape, it’s clear she draws inspiration from the works of Jane Austen. Like Austen, Reay explores the intricacies of human nature—always with an eye toward growth, redemption, and the enduring power of relationships.

About Stacy Peterson
Stacy Peterson studied English and Literature at Mount Royal Collage in Calgary, Alberta, Canada. She is currently working on adapting her first novel, The Lovely and Dangerous Launch of Lucy Cavanagh, into a screenplay for the Yellowstone Film Ranch, as well as writing a sequel for the novel and a contemporary series set in Paradise Valley, Montana.

WHEATGRASS BOOKS is a woman-owned independent bookshop that celebrates the beauty of the written word and the art of illustration. At Wheatgrass we place a strong emphasis on under-represented voices in literature, with a focus on new releases, regional authors, and children’s authors, while maintaining an excellent selection of classics.
