Join the Michigan Developmental Disabilities Council and Self-Advocates of Michigan on July 29 for the Breaking Barriers Community Celebration. Thanks to collaborative partnerships with Disability Rights Michigan, Lansing Shuffle, and the Lansing Lugnuts, we're excited to make this community celebration bigger than ever.
We're creating a sensory-friendly environment where everyone, including people with disabilities, can fully participate in a way that brings our community together.
Here's what's happening on July 29:

Breaking Barriers Community Celebration at the Lansing Lugnuts - Wrap up the day with a fun night at the ballpark! Enjoy America's favorite pastime in a sensory-friendly environment, where everyone can fully participate in the excitement of the game. Baseball is for everyone, and so is this celebration.
Baseball-Themed Art Contest - In partnership with the Lansing Lugnuts, we're also hosting a baseball-themed art contest. This contest invites artists with developmental disabilities to create artwork inspired by baseball. Selected pieces will be displayed at the stadium during the game. This is a unique opportunity to combine your love for sports with your passion for art!
