Basic Cannulation Workshop

This basic vascular access cannulation workshop is
designed for nurses who intend to perform peripheral
venous vascular access cannulations on patients with the
purpose to either withdraw venous bloods (blood sampling)
and/or to insert a peripheral intravenous catheter (PIVC) to
establish a vascular access pathway for intravenous fluid
supply in a fluid depleted patient or for the administration
of intravenous medication.

This workshop is designed for nurses or other healthcare
professionals with minimal or no previous experience in
vascular access cannulation.

Workshop Format – 4 CPD hours
• UNDERSTAND - Interactive lecture | 1 hour
• OBSERVE- Simulated demonstration | 1 hour
• PRACTICE - Hands-on practical training | 2 hours
