In Full Color Arts Fest: Music, Dance, Poetry & Party

In Full Color is celebrating 10 years of empowering women, TGNC folx and other marginalized BIPOC artists.

Join us for the first In Full Color Arts Fest on Saturday, June 7 from 6 pm to 10 pm at the Barrow Mansion, 83 Wayne St., Downtown Jersey City, NJ.

There will be pop-up performances by music, dance, poetry and theater artists from 6:30 to 8:30 and a dance party featuring DJ Lee Walker to close the evening. Guests will enjoy delicious light bites by local vendors, beer and wine cash bar and more. There will be a zinemaking workshop by Bodega Flower and crafts by RescuePoetix. (Both stations will have rolling participation through the night from 6 to 8). Ticketholders are free to come and go as they please through the night.

This program is supported by public funds from the Jersey City Arts and Culture Trust Fund. Content may include mature themes or strong language. Parental discretion advised. IS THIS A SHOW OR A PARTY?

This is more than a celebration -- it is also our decolonization of the theater space. We are presenting works by artists of color in a fun way that rejects white cultural norms like rigidity, silence and stillness.

This new format is rooted in honoring Black, brown and antiableist cultural values such as audience as participant, freedom to honor your body's needs, taking everything in its time, uplifting connection over commodity. Our hope is people of all genders, abilities and colors -- especially the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities we serve -- feel welcome, and can be themselves.

If you can't attend, to help us continue providing paid work for artists of color. This is a critical time for our community to uplift one another. <3

PARKING & TRANSPORTATION

Street parking is tough to find in Downtown Jersey City. Make extra time or consider parking in a local garage for ease and security. Most accessible by the Grove Street PATH Station, also accessible at Jersey Avenue or Marin Boulevard HBLR stations.
