The Feldenkrais Method® works with the plasticity of the brain and its ability to form new cells and reorganize itself, and in effect, helps the body integrate new references for movement.
Feldenkrais Awareness Through Movement® lessons teach the body to experience easier and more optimal movement patterns that can be integrated into how the body functions and organizes itself. Results include the opportunity to relinquish habitual movement patterns that cause or contribute to chronic pain and find a new way of moving, standing, walking, balancing and being
in one’s everyday living.
Classes will focus and develop ways in which The Feldenkrais Method® integrates the following:
• Improved Body Awareness: cultivate more neurological subtle
sensations and body signals.
• Enhanced Flexibility and Coordination: By exploring and
expanding your movement repertoire, you can improve flexibility,
coordination, and overall physical function.
• Pain Reduction and Rehabilitation: Many individuals find relief
from chronic pain, muscular tension, and limitations resulting
from injury or surgery through the gentle and mindful practice of
Awareness Through Movement®.
• Stress Reduction: As you delve into the present moment and
engage in gentle movements, you can experience a state of deep
relaxation and calm, helping to alleviate stress and promote
overall well-being.
Dates: These sessions take place Wednesdays 6-7pm - October 8, 15, 22 and 29 and November 5, 12, 19, and 26.
