Please join us as we dance and sing our prayers for peace. We invite you to join the Ithaca Dances of Universal Peace community as we create a circle where we strengthen, uplift, and support each other.
During 2025, we are dancing on the first Saturday night of the month at alternating locations: Foundation of Light and First Unitarian Society of Ithaca. In May, we'll be dancing at the Foundation of Light.
Walking meditation and live music from 7:15-7:30pm.
Dances begin at 7:30pm.
Our May theme is "Renewal and Resilience." We'll share Dances that honor Mother Earth, Divine Feminine, and other Sources that strengthen and renew us, representing a variety of the world's wisdom traditions.
No experience necessary. All are welcome.
Donations appreciated. $10-20 suggested.
We respect and support participants who choose to wear masks
and/or not hold hands. Gathering together to promote peace - within ourselves, in our communities and on Earth - is our intention. If you have any symptoms of illness, even if they are mild, please stay home and take good care of yourself.
The Dances of Universal Peace are an interfaith spiritual practice in motion. Drawing on sacred phrases, songs and poetry from the world's wisdom traditions, the Dances blend live music, chant, and movement into a living experience of unity and peace. The Dances offer us an opportunity to connect with the spiritual essence within ourselves, and recognize it in others. There are no performers or audience; newcomers and experienced dancers create the circle together.
