DESCRIPTION
Bachata is a music and social dance form with origins in bolero, and made widely popular in the Dominican Republic. Its slow tempo, high pitch and pop creates a distinct sensual feel. Like Salsa, Bachata works off of a three-four step timing and relies on strong lead-follow connection. In this series, students will learn to recognize the classic 4/4 measure of Bachata, and build foundational techniques and repertoire including lead-follow communication, timing, footwork, body movement, frame and posture.
👟 ATTIRE
Please wear fitted attire suitable for dancing. Footwear should be fitted with medium level traction and flat soles to facilitate movement. Heels, sandals, and open shoes are not suitable. Dance sneakers, comfortable flats, and worn sneakers are best. No stiletto heels in this studio. Bring a water bottle and hand towel.

Minimum: There is a six student registration requirement for each series level to move forward. If a series is cancelled, students who have registered in advance will be notified and reimbursed.
