“Axis Mundi and First Unitarian”

This talk will frame our own First Unitarian
building as an Axis Mundi, that is, as a place
that links the heavens with the earth, the
universe with the underworld, and the sacred
with the secular.
These themes are also present in an
exhibition of architectural drawings David
Salomon has curated at Ithaca College’s
Handwerker Gallery, on display from August
28 – October 1. There is an opening
reception on September 4, 5:00 pm, and
David will lead a tour of the exhibition
following the service on September 21 as part
of our Religious Exploration Programming.
