In recognition of Disability Pride Month, A Moment in Time returns to The Orion this July with an evening of creative expression, community, and storytelling.
Part of The Orion’s ongoing literary and creative speaker series, this special installation invites guests to explore the meaning of disability pride, identity and advocacy through music, poetry and personal narratives.
Featured voices include:

🎤 Taylor Burton — Singer-songwriter, creative professional and lead of The Silver Silos. A longtime Alabama musician, Taylor’s work blends rich storytelling with dynamic live performance. When he’s not performing or hosting local gigs, he’s operating his freelance graphic design business, Taylor Burton Creative.

🤝 Disability Resource Network — A North Alabama nonprofit dedicated to promoting independent living, advocacy, and equal access for people with disabilities across 13 counties.
The evening will close with an open-mic session anyone can participate in. This is your invitation to share poetry, stories, songs, and reflections in celebration of identity and inclusion in an intimate, no-pressure environment.
This event is FREE to attend and welcomes guests of all ages. Together, let’s listen, learn, and lift up one another’s voices.
