The Bluegrass Run album release show will be on Saturday, June 21st at Pickens Hall in Heuvelton, NY. The matinee concert begins with doors opening at 12pm and music beginning at 1pm.

ARTIST BIO:
Bob O’Marah was born and raised in New York State’s North Country and for the last 40 years has resided there in the small community of Heuvelton. Earlier in his life he took notice of the exhilarating Bluegrass sounds of Bill Monroe, Lester Flatt and Earl Scruggs and a couple decades later, his interest in the second wave of Bluegrass artists such as Larry Sparks, Jim & Jesse and Del McCoury took hold. His passion for the genre was locked in and has been intertwined throughout his life.
Having decades of traveling and participating in Bluegrass festivals across New York, Kentucky and throughout the Southeast under his belt, even after turning 90 years old earlier this year, that passion is still thriving.
In the Summer of 2023, going on nine decades of a life well lived, he wrote his first song ‘The Bluegrass Run’. The song has a double meaning - it refers to the classic “Lester Flatt G Run” which is a musical phrase used heavily in the Bluegrass genre, along with it being a musical retelling of the history of Bluegrass. The song’s themes involve and reference a handful of essential people and locations that were at the heart of bringing these types of songs to the world.
Bob had passed down his love of the music to his grandson’s Dan and Billy Lynch and has been pickin’ songs with them on porches and in circle jams for years. In October of 2024, Bob and his friend and trusted musical companion Bob Stewart, were able to record ‘The Bluegrass Run, along with four covers of their favorite Country and Bluegrass songs. The session was recorded by his grandsons Dan and Billy, along with close family friend Jameson Dunham.
They setup their audio equipment at a music hall that Bob O’Marah had a hand in helping restore. Pickens Hall in Heuvelton was constructed in 1858 and just under 10 years ago, went from an abandoned building steeped in the history of the area, to becoming a staple of the North Country music scene and a stalwart at the center of town. In the last decade it also became a place that Bob O’Marah and Bob Stewart, along with a large group of their musical friends, would come together once a month for their “Monday Bluegrass Jam”.
In early June, Bob O’Marah and Bob Stewart will release their five song album on CD and online on all streaming platforms. It will also culminate with a special performance on the Opera Hall Stage of Pickens Hall. They will be accompanied by Bob O’Marah’s grandson’s Dan and Billy Lynch, along with Jameson Dunham and also a handful of musician friends of the family. They will be bringing the full sound of The Bluegrass Run album to life. This will be a show certain to not miss and will showcase the lifelong passion of music for both Bob O’Marah and Bob Stewart. It will also display the wondrous atmosphere of seeing a show at a venue that contains such vast historical significance to the region and represents the rich love of song in the North Country.
