Beginners Sewing Class with The Sewing Club
Learning to sew is a must for everyone. Sewing is a useful and practical skill to have and allows you to create and alter clothing, upcycle fabric into new items and help promote a more sustainable approach to buying clothes, accessories, soft furnishings and gifts.
Choose a fabric to make a simple but useful drawstring bag which will incorporate all that you’ve learnt.
Learn how to:
use a machine and get to grips with the basics, threading up, winding a bobbin, understanding different stitches, sewing curves and corners and sewing seams and hems, learning lots of practical tips along the way.
Your tutor:
Angela Pressley is a best-selling author of sewing books. She has appeared on TV and at Stitch shows giving live demonstrations of her projects. Her sewing school ‘The Sewing Club’ has been established in Kent for over 17 years. Subsequently she has a wealth of sewing expertise and hands-on experience in teaching adults and children how to sew from beginners to more advanced levels.
