Alterations, Upcycling and clothing/textile repair workshop with The Sewing Club
We will help you alter and mend your own clothes or other fabric items by teaching you about upcycling, recycling and revamping!
Pick up advice from the group, learning from other’s dilemmas in a collaborative atmosphere with expert guidance from your tutor encouraging you to give new life to old items whilst saving money and reducing waste!
Learn how to:
Rethink about your item and how it can be altered and how that can be realised using the sewing machine. Depending on your needs you may learn about hemming, taking in, taking out, making patches, applique or mending a hole or replacing buttons.
What’s included:
Use of all machines, tools and equipment
What to bring:
Bring one or two items of clothing or textile item (we may only have time to consider one item). Please let us know in advance what you are going to bring so we can have some idea of your intentions.
Extra fabric, zips, buttons, ribbon and trimmings you can foresee you might need
