Join us for Short ‘n’ Snappy #7: two hours of comedy, tragedy and everything in between, delivered in five plays that, while being short, don’t lack bite.
BEAR BREAKFAST
– written & directed by Vladislav Nenchev
– featuring Mira Montell & Avik Mullick
Hershel is stopped on the U.S. Route 101 by Officer Winnie García. Even though a blind and deaf man would confidently testify that he was speeding, Hershel doesn’t give up just yet, as there’s a lot more history and … strategy behind this.
THE INTRICATE WORKINGS OF A SHERBET LEMON
– written by Stuart Lee, directed by Zachariah Chamberlaine
– featuring Marilena Constantinou, Ashwin Kumaravelayutham & Chiaki Kakinuma
What’s worse than being stuck at a railway station at night alone? Being stuck at a railway station at night with a weirdo. And not just a weirdo, but a creepy weirdo who insists on talking to you non-stop about all manner of things, including the intricate workings of a sherbet lemon.
PAUPER'S WINTER
– written & directed by Vladislav Nenchev
– featuring John Leo & Marta Ligaj
It is April, and spring is slowly coming back to the land. But Siikalahti Nature Reserve is missing something of grave importance for Sari. Will Risto’s cheeky remarks and unorthodox suggestions be a salvation in disguise, or the final nails in the coffin of Sari’s sanity, or … maybe both?
ALEXA, I LOVE YOU
– written by Billy O’Shea & directed by Zachariah Chamberlaine
– featuring Leysan Karimova, Dish Eldishnawy & Paul McGuire
We all seem to be attached to our devices these days, but just how attached can you get? As an out-of-work actor, Jane jumps at the chance to take a well-paid acting job – but will it turn out to be a lot more than she bargained for?
MYSTERY PLAY
– written & directed by Zachariah Chamberlaine
– featuring Zachariah Chamberlaine, Mr Invisible & Barnabus Bakerloo
"Mystery Play" invites the audience to see if they can solve the crime on the basis of the evidence uncovered by Detective Jaxon Prockétt – a crime fighter who seems strangely familiar ... and yet also unfamiliar. This bold new concept combines live theatre with elements of gamification, and we're sure nothing could possibly go wrong.
