History & Musicality Lesson description:
Join on an interesting journey through history and latin music. How has the movements and music of salsa and bachata evolved through history? Where did our music and movements come from? Learn the differences of Orisha’s, Franco-Haitan dances. Son, Rumba, ChaCha, Mambo, Bachata and Salsa? How has African rhythms and movements evolved in Cuba, and the Caribbean? What other dances and music styles has influenced salsa like Lindy Hop, Swing dances, Hustle, in New York and Oriha’s Son, Rumba, influenced the Cuban Salsa? What are the other main salsa styles like LA and New York Style, Puerto Rican, Cali style and what are their differences? What are the other sub-salsa styles some claim like Washington DC, Miami, Australian, London, Italian and their differences? What are the differences between Dominican, Modern, Sensual and Fusion bachata styles and their differences? How has Pachanga, Boogaloo, Cha-Cha, and Ballroom styles shaped the Salsa world? And a lot more… This special lecture through the journey and history is part lecture and part practical movements that take you to a deeper understanding to our latin dance world in an exciting way where you get to be a part of the movements and learn quickly to differentiate and even dance the basics of all of these different styles to understand the movements and their connection to the music. We invite you to become to be a part of the continued evolution of our salsa and bachata world.
