Rakkautta & Anarkiaa ja Cinema Mondo juhlivat 40-vuotiasta Studio Ghibliä Bio Rex Lasipalatsissa aamusta iltaan 18. toukokuuta. Viiden elokuvan lisäksi tarjolla on runsaasti Ghibli- ja Aasia-aiheista oheisohjelmaa. Lipunmyynti tapahtumaan on käynnissä festivaalin nettisivuilla.
Studio Ghiblin 40-vuotisjuhlien kunniaksi esitettävistä elokuvista kaksi valittiin yleisöäänestyksellä. Ääniä annettiin yli tuhat festivaalin sosiaalisessa mediassa ja nettisivuilla. Yleisön suurimmiksi suosikeiksi nousivat Henkien kätkemä (2001) sekä Liikkuva linna (2004).
Yleisön suosikkien lisäksi tapahtumassa esitetään koko perheelle suunnattu ja suomeksi puhuttu ihastuttava Ponyo rantakalliolla (2008). Dokumentti Hayao Miyazaki and the Heron (2024) puolestaan tarjoaa faneille kurkistuksen studion kulissien taakse seuraamaan Poika ja haikara -elokuvan kehittelyä, mutkikasta tuotantoa ja loppukiriä kohti ensi-iltaa. Illan huipentaa unohtumaton Ghibli-klassikko Prinsessa Mononoke (1997).
Ghibli-päivän ohjelmaan kuuluu myös runsaasti aktiviteetteja ja työpajoja, joihin kaikenikäiset voivat osallistua päivän aikana. Luvassa on muun muassa teetarjoilua, origamien tekoa, Ghibli-aarteiden metsästystä sekä Ghibli-aiheinen tietovisa. Koko päivän tapahtumaohjelmisto julkaistaan myöhemmin. Mukana ovat Teetao Teehuone, Luca Kioski, Museo Leikki, Shumicon ja Kuvitellaan Store.
Elokuviin on myynnissä yksittäislippujen (13 €) lisäksi kolmen lipun MORO-sarjakortteja (35 €) sekä viiden lipun MIYAZAKI-sarjakortteja (55 €). Alennushintaisia yksittäislippuja on myynnissä alle 10-vuotiaille (6 €) sekä opiskelijoille, yli 70-vuotiaille ja työnhakijoille (11 €). Love & Anarchy and Cinema Mondo will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Studio Ghibli with a full-day event at Cinema Gilda’s Bio Rex Lasipalatsi on Sunday, May 18. In addition to five films, the day’s program features a wide range of Ghibli and Asia-themed side events. Tickets for the event are now available on the festival’s website.
To honour Studio Ghibli’s 40th anniversary, two of the films being screened were chosen by public vote. Fans were invited to select their two favorites from the Ghibli catalogue, with over a thousand votes cast via the festival’s social media and website. The top audience favorites are Spirited Away (2001) and Howl’s Moving Castle (2004).
In addition to the audience picks, the event will feature the delightful, Finnish-dubbed Ponyo (2008), perfect for the whole family. Fans will also get a behind-the-scenes look at the studio with the documentary Hayao Miyazaki and the Heron (2024), which follows the development and complex production of The Boy and the Heron up to its release. The evening will conclude with a screening of the unforgettable Ghibli classic Princess Mononoke (1997).
The Ghibli Day programme also includes a variety of activities and workshops open to all ages throughout the day. Visitors can look forward to tea service, origami making, a Ghibli treasure hunt, and a Ghibli-themed trivia quiz. The full event schedule will be released later. Participating partners include Teetao Tea Room, Luca Kiosk, Museo Leikki, Shumicon, and Kuvitellaan Store.
In addition to individual tickets (€13), ticket bundles are available: the 3-ticket serial card MORO (€35) and the 5-ticket serial card MIYAZAKI (€55). Discounted tickets are available for children under 10 (€6), students, seniors over 70, and job seekers (€11). All tickets and serial cards are available via the festival’s website.
