Welcome to our new series of workshops for the summer, FROM ME TO WE!
Our wellbeing is deeply connected to our sense of identity and belonging. When we can openly express our backgrounds and emotions, it helps reduce stigma and loneliness, while building understanding and connection with others.
In this five-part workshop series, we’ll go on a creative journey from self-reflection to shared connection. Through simple, arts-based activities, we’ll explore identity, how we see others, and how we imagine our place in a community. Along the way, we’ll build a sense of belonging, ease stress, and strengthen our overall wellbeing.
You’re welcome to join just one or all five workshops. While attending each session can deepen the experience, every workshop also stands on its own. Each session will include a unique creative activity and a short group discussion for reflection and feedback.
The Workshops:
'Where I Come From', 3rd of July at 17.30 -19.00 - We honor our origin stories and validate our identity by creating a visual collage.
'Who I Am Today', 10th of July at 17.30-19.00 - We connect with our present selves using our sense of touch combined with paint.
'How I Express It', 17th of July at 17.30-19.00 - We explore self-expression through visual masks of what we feel, see, or carry.
'What I See in Others', 24th of July at 17.30-19.00 - We witness others’ personal expressions (like music, dance, or writing) and reflect on what we perceive versus what they intended to express. *NOTE: you don’t need to perform something, just share your favorite song, text, image, etc*
'Where Do We Go Together', 31st of July at 17.30-19.00 - We plant our hopes for the future into the earth, representing what we want our community to hold.
