Reaching Escape Velocity is an empathetic cry for action, to transform our lives and become our authentic selves. Through stories, spells and occasional poetry, Joppe takes us through an extended diary of his thinking and creative works to inspire us to take a leap of faith and have the courage to follow those instincts that lurk in the back of our minds.

The writings in this book are more than words - they are spells. Joppe’s deepest and most personal thoughts and incantations spilled out onto paper. There’s a fine line between writing and spells. They both paint pictures with syllables and weave them into your imagination. But when writing is intended to manifest reality - it is magic.

Spells are the kind of writings that pull you into your very own mind’s eye, and can help you experience a real moment in its highest definition, a thought in all it’s complexity, or make you experience all of existence in an instance.
