🎨 Summer Art Camp: Week 1, Camps 1A & 1B
🗓️ June 9–13, 2025
📍 Hughes Fine Arts Center, Room 111
👧 Ages 6–14 | 🕘 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Let imaginations soar! Week 1 of the North Dakota Museum of Art’s Summer Art Camp kicks off June 9, 2025. Campers will spend the week creating alongside professional artists in a vibrant, hands-on environment designed to inspire, challenge, and spark joy.
Each week offers two age-specific sessions:
✍️ Camp 1A: STORY LAB
Ages 6–9 | Instructor: Rhiannon Conley
Welcome to a week of writing, drawing, exploring, and getting weird—in the best way! Led by Grand Forks-based writer and UND instructor Rhiannon Conley, this camp dives into fiction, poetry, and nonfiction through playful writing adventures and daily creative challenges. Campers will make comics, visual poems, zines, storytelling games, and more—all culminating in a celebratory open mic on Friday. Expect to craft, cut, fold, wander, and maybe even play with shaving cream. Bring your imagination—we’ll take care of the rest!
🎨 Camp 1B: WILD & REAL
Ages 10–14 | Instructor: Jamie Worden
Discover your inner artist through self-portraiture in every form. From bold acrylics to delicate watercolors, expressive charcoal, and even polymer clay animations, students will explore a new medium each day to bring their reflections to life. With guided mirror studies and digital experimentation, this dynamic camp helps young artists sharpen technique while developing their own creative voice. Titled MEdia: Self-Portraits in Multiple Mediums, this week invites campers to express emotion, movement, and identity in fresh, exciting ways.
