🎨 Summer Art Camp: Week 3, Camps 3A & 3B

👧 Ages 6–14 | 🕘 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Week 3 invites young artists to dive into color, composition, and bold storytelling through hands-on projects and creative exploration. From learning the fundamentals of color to designing symbolic emblems, this week is perfect for campers who love to experiment, express, and make their mark!
Each week offers two age-specific sessions:
🎨 Camp 3A: COLOR EXPLORERS
Ages 6–9 | Instructor: Kali Frances
From watercolors to tissue paper, campers in Color Explorers will discover how to see and use color in new ways. North Dakota-based multidisciplinary artist Kali Frances believes “you cannot have fun without fundamentals,” and her camp brings that spirit to life. Campers will learn color theory, observe the world around them, and build their confidence as they draw, paint, and create a final masterpiece to take home. With a mix of indoor and outdoor activities, this session is a joyful journey into the building blocks of visual art.
🧩 Camp 3B: EMBLEM MAKERS
Ages 10–14 | Instructor: Martha Keifenheim
What do your symbols say about you? Campers in Emblem Makers will craft bold, personal emblems using paint, paper, glue, and imagination. Teaching artist Martha Keifenheim—longtime Grand Forks creative, UND art graduate, and all-around maker—brings her love of storytelling and design to this camp rooted in both art history and self-expression. Alongside learning about the role of emblems through time, students will create vibrant symbols that reflect their unique voice and vision.

🍱 Lunches & Snacks
Optional pre-packed lunch boxes from the NDMOA Café available for $60/week. Or, bring a lunch from home (no refrigeration or heating available). Daily snack included. No vending machine access during camp.
👕 What to Pack
Clothes that can get messy, light layers, comfy shoes, sunscreen, and a water bottle. Lockers provided for personal items.
🖼️ Friday Reception
Join us Friday at 2:00 PM for a camper-designed reception and art show. Bring your camera—artwork goes home at 3:00!
