Brick Club is a FREE play-based, disability-inclusive social group led by a licensed speech-language pathologist intended for ALL children of ALL ages, neurotypes, abilities, and support needs. Our goal is to come together, learn from one another, and BUILD community, connection, and confidence through a shared interest in Legos!
We'll have three "Stations" set up:
1) 🏗Free-build Station: Dive into a giant bin of Legos and let your creativity unfold. We even have HUNDREDS of minifigures to choose from! Duplos are available for younger builders!
2)👷♂️ Set-build Station: Choose to work either independently or collaboratively in groups of 2-3 with assigned roles. The small group model is aimed to promote social-emotional learning, pragmatic language development, problem solving, and teamwork while taking on the roles of "engineer," "supplier," and "builder."
3)🕵️♂️ Lego Sorting Station: BeSpoke Speech Therapy collaborates with Zane's Ramps, a local organization that turns used Legos into wheelchair ramps, "making the South Coast more accessible, one brick at a time." Help us sort through bins of thousands of donated Legos to identify the bricks necessary to build these awesome structures of artistic activism!
