Uncharitable – Film Screening

In partnership with the Southern Cancer Society, Tūhura Otago Museum is proud to present a special screening of the groundbreaking documentary Uncharitable.

Uncharitable challenges long-held beliefs about charity and philanthropy—particularly the notion that low overhead equates to effectiveness. The film exposes how these traditional expectations can limit the potential of nonprofit organisations, arguing that charities should be empowered to operate more like businesses: with the freedom to innovate, grow, and truly make a difference. Through compelling real-world stories, Uncharitable reveals how restrictive mindsets can stifle progress and urges audiences to rethink what it really means to do good.


While there is no cost to attend, seats are limited, and bookings are required. This documentary film is unrated in New Zealand. Runtime: 90 mins.
