This program is brought to you by IEEE AUST Student Branch in collaboration with IEEE WIE Affinity Group AUST SBC, IEEE SPS & IEEE ComSoc Joint SBC, IEEE PES AUST SBC and IEEE EDS AUST SBC.
This mentorship program is a new and ongoing series by IEEE AUST Student Branch, designed specifically to guide and support students through their transition from university to professional careers. The program focuses on addressing key topics that will help graduating students and soon-to-be graduates understand the competitive job market, acquire essential skills, and secure promising career opportunities.
The session will feature two accomplished speakers: 𝐑𝐚𝐢𝐬𝐚 𝐓𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐦 𝐂𝐡𝐨𝐰𝐝𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐲 and 𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫.
Raisa Tabassum Chowdhury currently works as a Key Account Manager, Senior Executive at MGH Group, where she leads operations for some of the company’s major freight forwarding accounts. An EEE graduate from AUST, she will talk about her journey from engineering to the supply chain industry. In her session titled “𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐧: 𝐍𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐜 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐡,” she will discuss how to break into the supply chain field, why it is a promising career path for engineers, the essential skills needed, as well as the challenges she faced and valuable lessons she learned along the way.
𝐒𝐚𝐥𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐊𝐡𝐚𝐢𝐫 will also be gracing the session, serving as the Lead of Talent Acquisition and Learning & Development at Reckitt Bangladesh and Sri Lanka. With a rich background in recruitment and professional growth, he brings valuable perspectives that promise to inspire and empower. He will deliver a session called “𝐀𝐜𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐞, 𝐎𝐰𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐞: 𝐀𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐟𝐮𝐥 𝐂𝐕𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐜𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬.” His talk will focus on practical tips for writing strong CVs, customizing resumes for different jobs, understanding assessment processes like interviews and group discussions, and strategies to perform confidently and successfully in the hiring process.
