“Competency Workshop: Career in Product Management”

To help curious students and beginners who want to gain a real-world perspective and build essential skills in product management, the IEEE NSU Industry Applications Society Student Branch Chapter is excited to organise a hands-on workshop titled “Competency Workshop: Career in Product Management” as part of the “IAS Mega Week” celebration, scheduled for 4th August 2025. This workshop aims to provide students with a practical roadmap to succeed in product management roles, with guidance directly from a seasoned expert.
For this workshop, we will be having Mr. Shifat Ul Hoque Sonnet, Lead IoT Product Manager at Grameenphone Ltd., as our instructor. With over 5 years of experience in product management, he has driven revenue innovations and managed end-to-end product development in the IoT sector. In his previous role at Robi Axiata Ltd., he played an important role in the strategic growth planning transformation of the Robi Cloud platform, achieving a 3X growth in SaaS solutions revenue and an 8X increase in B2B IoT revenue. Mr. Sonnet’s blend of industry knowledge and practical experience will help participants understand the product lifecycle and career opportunities in this field.
This workshop will be an excellent opportunity for students to know the world of product management, get practical experience, and learn how to succeed in this rapidly growing profession.
