Motown Museum's Founder's Day

We’re commemorating four decades of preserving the legacy and impact of Motown music—and honoring the visionary leadership of Esther Gordy Edwards—at our annual Founder’s Day celebration. 

This year’s event takes place on Sunday, May 25th from 12–5 PM on the Rocket Plaza, bringing together Motown fans from around the world and our beloved Detroit community for a vibrant day at Hitsville U.S.A.

Don’t miss the specially curated Motown shopping experience inside the Museum gift shop and the Hitsville NEXT Atrium. 

On the Plaza, the celebration will be hosted by Angie Starr of 105.9 Kiss FM, with music by Nick Speed and live performances from our Hitsville NEXT artists. The afternoon will be headlined by a special performance from the legendary Four Tops.
