Detroit Teen Truth Film Festival 2025

Established in 2019, the Detroit Teen Truth Film Festival (formerly the Detroit Can Film Festival) is an opportunity for youth in Wayne, Oakland, and Macomb Counties to create 15 second films that share their truth and perspectives on the festival theme. Finalists are eligible to win cash prizes and scholarships to programming at Interlochen Center for the Arts. Each year, the theme is selected by festival founders working with focus groups of area young people to reflect important social issues in hopes of empowering youth to use their creativity to share their voices for understanding and change.

This free, family friendly event will screen and celebrate the festival finalists' work and award prizes, including an audience prize determined by attendees at the event.

As Y Arts is a grant/donor funded branch of the YMCA of Metropolitan Detroit, we are also offering donor tickets, allowing you to choose an amount you'd like to give to support our work in building creative community.
