Community Talk with Local Master Blacksmith & Historian, Jeffrey Miller

The Damariscotta Historical Society will be hosting local master blacksmith and historian, Jeffrey Miller, for a community talk on the ironware used and insights about the daily work of blacksmiths as recorded in the books in the Damariscotta area during the 18th century. The talk will take place at the Damariscotta Historical Society located at 3 Chapman Street on Tuesday, June 24th at 7 PM. The presentation is free for both members and non-members. Refreshments will be served.

Jeffrey Miller worked as the head blacksmith at Old Sturbridge Village in Sturbridge, Mass. and Fort at No. 4 in Charlestown, N.H. He established his present blacksmith shop, Flintlock Forge, in Waldoboro 16 years ago. Miller is a traditional blacksmith forging quality reproduction ironware for restoration projects and individual projects. 17th, 18th and early 19th century ironware is his specialty. His work has been commissioned by individuals and museums across the United States and Canada.
