Here is a new class! PLEASE READ DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me.
Learn how to make screenprints for pottery and transfer it to your mug. Join Jo as she guides you through the process of making your own screen print. You will be exposing it to UV rays, either by sunlight or a UV light if it is cloudy, then soak your screen print to reveal the image. Once the screen print is dry, Jo will teach you how to transfer the image to your mug and you will add some color to your screen print using underglaze.
The artwork can be something you created or Jo can create something for you. If using your own art work, it must be sent to
am9waWxzdG9ucG90dGVyeSB8IGdtYWlsICEgY29t a week ahead of time and must be a black and white image, the bolder the lines, the better. If you don’t have your own artwork, email Jo what you are looking for and she will email some artwork for you to pick from for your mug. For instance, a mountain scene, daisy’s, sunflowers, etc...
If you took the mug class the previous week, you can use that mug for your silk screen project. If you did not, mugs will be there for your project. When you purchase your ticket to the class, there will be 2 options, you will use the mug you made in the previous class, or you need a mug.
So, grab a friend and come on out for an evening of fun and creativity at the Back Mountain Makery, 2613 Memorial Highway, Dallas, PA
.
Jo will take your screen-printed mug back to the studio and add a clear glaze and fire. Your mugs will be ready for pick up at Back Mountain Makery 1 - 2 weeks later.
This is a non-refundable class unless cancelled by Jo Pilston Pottery or Back Mountain Makery. If you can't make it, you can transfer your ticket. There must be a minimum of 8 people to hold the class. If the minimum isn't met, the class could be cancelled by Jo Pilston Pottery.
Class is $100 if you need a premade mug
Class is $25 if you will be using the mug you made the previous week
