Dive deep into the intricate workings of the body with our "Functional Anatomy in Asana" module as part of the 300-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program at Lunar Yoga. This comprehensive module is designed to enhance your understanding of how anatomical structures and functions influence yoga postures.
Gain insights into alignment, movement patterns, and injury prevention, and learn how to apply this knowledge to improve your teaching and personal practice. Join us for an enlightening journey that bridges the gap between theory and practical application, empowering you to guide students with confidence and precision.
We will study the way the skeletal system works to help prevent injury in asana, so that we can skillfully adapt the pose for each individual body and learn how to teach with a functional approach.
We will focus on the sensation or purpose of the pose and not the shape to enhance students' experience and understanding of their body.
We will cover

Deconstruct anatomy to apply the Functional Approach
Explore the benefit and purpose of each pose
Target Muscles: what are they, why they’re important, and how they impact each pose
