The 2025 Simms Summer Concerts season wraps up in style on Sunday, August 24, at 7 p.m. with The Doobie Brothers Experience — a masterful tribute to one of rock’s most enduring and beloved bands. The evening will also feature a food bank drive.
With uncanny visual and vocal similarities to Doobie Brothers founders Tom Johnston and Pat Simmons, spot-on instrumental work, soaring harmonies and polished performances, The Doobie Brothers Experience captures the energy and sound of the original. Their show spans both the Tom Johnston and Michael McDonald eras, celebrating one of the most iconic song catalogues in rock ’n’ roll.
Audiences can expect classics like "China Grove," "Long Train Runnin'," "What a Fool Believes," "Minute by Minute," "Black Water," "Dark Eyed Cajun Woman," "Jesus Is Just Alright" and "Takin’ It to the Streets" — songs that invite everyone to sing along.
The concert will run until approximately 8:30 p.m. Admission is free, but concertgoers are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item or cash donation to support the Comox Valley Food Bank. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and enjoy the riverside setting of Simms Millennium Park, located by the 5th Street Bridge and across from Lewis Park.
