Affect: Loop

Affect considers the emotional and sensory impressions that accumulate through presence and participation, revealing how shared experiences quietly shape how a place is remembered. This event introduces affect as a way of engaging with the Palace through attention, listening and collective imagination.

Led by artist Laura Besançon, this creative workshop invites children to move through the Inquisitor’s Palace, using Laura’s installation as a starting point for noticing, gathering and reinterpreting impressions of the site. Through guided prompts, participants will translate their observations into a collaborative illustrated tapestry, exploring how personal responses contribute to the experience and memory of a place.

This event is free of charge and registration is required ( https://forms.gle/mZurs8hv1nbcEy1V6). This workshop is open to children aged 8-12, each accompanied by a parent, guardian or responsible adult. All materials are provided.

Please note that the museum will not be accessible during this workshop and that some workshop locations are unfortunately not accessible to those with limited mobility.

This event forms part of the public programme of Moving with the Wind, Like Waves, a site-specific project unfolding across an exhibition, publication and series of activations at the Inquisitor’s Palace. The project is developed and curated by Elyse Tonna and commissioned and supported by the Bank of Valletta Foundation.
