Born in small-town Iowa and now based in Chicago, her songwriting blends the familiarity of rural life with the movement of the city, offering a sharp, tender lens on human connection. Her songwriting is equal parts confessional and self-aware, like catching up with a friend who makes you laugh while laying bare her unfiltered narrative.

Weaving indie rock textures with the timeless feel of American folk, she crafts songs that are raw, funny, and achingly real. Her 2022 album Wherever You Aren’t drew praise from American Songwriter and No Depression for her signature mix of vulnerability and humor, earning acclaim for both its authenticity and vocal dynamism. Now, Moen is working on her next chapter, one that promises to deepen the unfiltered storytelling, soaring vocals, and introspective songwriting that have made her a standout.
