Summer Solstice Ecstatic Dance

This is the first dance offering from Columbia Ecstatic Dance, facilitated by Lo Down and live DJ’d by Lazuli! Come join us for an evening of genuine connection, sweet beats, abundantly positive vibes, and delicious, authentic expression.

The dance will take place in the main sanctuary of the Unitarian Universalist Church of Columbia (UUCC)
2615 Shepard Blvd. Columbia, MO

Dance lab: 6:30-7:00PM
Ecstatic dance: 7:00 - 8:30PM

3 SIMPLE PRINCIPLES

1. We Dance without shoes (or: We Dance Barefoot)

This allows us to connect more fully with the Ground (socks are OK).
If you have a physical condition that you need dance shoes, then OK.

2. We Dance without words (or: We Dance with Body Language)

This makes it easier to be in a Meditative State.
No Verbal Instruction from the Facilitators.
No Talking from the Dancers.
(You may whisper quietly on the mats or benches in the back, IF no one else can hear you from the Dancefloor.)

3. We Dance as We Are

No Drugs/Alcohol, No Phones, No Camera/Video, No Scents, No Expectations, No Judgements, No Shoulds, No Oughts… Just Be Yourself; With Respect for Ourselves, the Space, and One Another.
