Art in Focus with Dr. Abbe Schriber

Art in Focus is a series of spotlight talks in which art historians explore themes found in an individual artwork in the CMA Collection, offering an opportunity to discover new insights with a true fine arts specialist. For the next Art in Focus, Dr. Abbe Schriber leads a talk on Carrie Mae Weems’ Untitled (The Shape of Things), on view in Let’s Have a Talk: Black Artists from the CMA Collection. Dr. Schriber is assistant professor of art history & African American studies at the University of South Carolina, where her research and teaching focuses on 20th- and 21st-century art of the African Diaspora.
