Join us for a morning of birding at Green Island, where the McKenzie meets the Willamette.
Ya’llllllll. When I say I’m excited for this week’s birding adventure, it could not be more true! Green Island is a conservation gem in the Willamette valley and we are SO lucky to have it in our backyard.
We’ll be following the North Loop Trail, a mostly flat, ~1.25 mile route through wetlands, riparian forest, and open fields. This 1,100-acre conservation site hosts a rich variety of birdlife. Expect possible sightings of Yellow Warblers, Black-headed Grosbeaks, Western Wood-Pewees, Bald Eagles, Ospreys, and keep your eyes peeled for mink, turtles, deer, coyotes, and river otters—all of whom make this area their home.
Even if you're an OG LCQB member, please register so we can plan accordingly and share any last-minute updates.:
