Join us for an unforgettable evening of history, music, and community as The Harriet Beecher Stowe House and The Voice of Black Cincinnati present the Edgemont Inn Speakeasy Re-Enactment — a lively tribute to a little-known chapter of Cincinnati’s past.
🎶 Live Music by the YOLO Band featuring Lavieena Campbell will bring the sounds of the 1940s to life with classic jazz, swing, and blues.
🎤 Brandi Lasherrill will weave the fascinating story of the Edgemont Inn, once a Green Book-listed tavern and boarding house operated by Irene Bacon in the historic Stowe House during segregation. Between sets, you’ll hear about how this iconic home became a vibrant gathering place for Black travelers and Walnut Hills neighbors.
🍽️ Food, drinks, and local retail vendors will be on-site, giving you a taste of the community spirit that defined the era — and still thrives today.
